250 KVA 11KV Power Distribution Transformer

This 250 KVA transformer was delivered to Djibouti in 2015. the rated power of the transformer is 250 KVA.

Product Introduction

This 250 KVA transformer was delivered to Djibouti in 2015. the rated power of the transformer is 250 KVA. It is a Step-down transformer 11KV to 0.4KV, the primary voltage is 11kv, the secondary voltage is 400v. The transformer adopted copper wire as winding material, thus it have better mechanical strength and anti-short circuit ability than aluminum windings. Our 250 kVA Distribution Transformer was designed with advanced technology and adopts high quality material and components which result in reliable quality and long operation time.

SCOTECH ensure each one of our delivered transformers had passed the full acceptance test and we remains 0 fault rate record for more than 10 years so far, oil immersed power transformer is designed in accordance with IEC, ANSI and other major international standards.

What is a gas relay?

The transformer gas relay is a protective device installed on the top of oil-filled transformers. It performs two functions. It detects the slow accumulation of gases, providing an alarm after a given amount of gas has been collected. … An incipient fault or developing fault, usually causes slow formation of gas.

Why tap changer is placed on high voltage side?

The tap changer is placed on high voltage side because:

1) The HV winding generally wound over LV winding hence it is easier to access the HV winding turns instead of LV winding.

2) Because of high voltage the current through the HV winding is less compared to LV windings, hence there is less “wear” on the tap changer contacts. Due this low current, in on load tap changer the changeover spark will be less.
