This 30 MVA power transformer was delivered to South Africa in 2016. the rated power of the transformer is 30000 KVA. It is a Step-down transformer 132KV to 11KV, the primary voltage is 132kv, the secondary voltage is 11kv. Windings are composed of two parts, namely, a conductor and insulation material. For the conductor, we use high grade electrolytic copper. Our Oil Immersed Transformers obtain high thermal capacity with the use of epoxy coated Insulter kraft paper, which has higher short time overload capacity than any other kraft paper type. Our 30 MVA power transformer was designed with advanced technology and adopts high quality material and components which result in reliable quality and long operation time.

Why would a tap changer system be installed on HV side of power transformers?

on HV side voltage is high but current is less but in the LV side voltage is less and current is high. If we connect Tap changer on the LV side then sparking will take place. Better controlled output can be determined when we connect tap changer in LV. The HV winding generally wound over LV winding hence it is easier to access the HV winding turns instead of LV winding.
