SCOTECH delivered two units of 315 KVA vacuum pressure impregnated (VPI) dry type transformer to South Africa in 2018. The rated power of the transformer is 315 KVA. the primary voltage of the transformer is 3.3 KV and secondary voltage is 0.4 KV, the transformer coils are vacuum pressure impregnated in high temperature polyester vanish under vacuum and pressure, the coils can be made of copper or aluminum, the insulation is made of high grade nonflammable materials, the insulations class can be F(155℃), H(180℃)or C(220℃) class, suitable for different requirements, the finished coils are effectively protected against moisture, dirt, and most industrial contaminants, VPI transformers are suitable for use indoors or outdoors, any place require particular attention to the environments, such as costal and mining area, it can equipped with cooling fans and temperature controller to allow it have overload capacity. Why Insulation resistance of dry type transformer decreased:

1.Reason analysis. Pouring type dry transformer winding is mostly made of resin pouring, conductor material is sealed in it, so the decrease of insulation resistance is mostly caused by moisture condensation on the surface of winding, dust accumulation or part of insulation material being affected by moisture.

2.Processing method: Clean winding surface, surface moisture condensation with dry cloth wipe, natural air can be restored. It can be dried by heater and ventilated by fan. The neutral line (zero row) of the three-phase connection of dry-type transformer can be disconnected. The megohm meter is used to determine which phase the problem is in, and then the problem is carefully searched and processed.
